Dental Fillings in Toowoomba
Toothache, sharp sensitivity, or a dark spot on a tooth can quickly make eating and drinking uncomfortable. Dental fillings repair decay and cracks so you can bite, chew, and smile with confidence again. At Access Dental Services, your fillings are planned as part of a thorough, technology-led check-up so small problems are found early.
If you’re new to the practice, ask about our new-patient exam special, which includes a complete assessment, X-rays as needed, and a professional clean so we can map out any fillings you may need with clarity and no surprises.
What Is a Filling and When Do You Need One?
A filling is a routine treatment where decayed or damaged tooth structure is removed and replaced with a strong, tooth-coloured material. This helps stop decay spreading, protects the tooth, and restores normal function. You may need a filling if you notice any of the following:
Sensitivity to hot, cold, or sweet foods; pain when chewing; visible holes or dark spots; a chipped, cracked, or worn filling; or food catching between teeth in the same place.
Dr Peter Choi and the team will examine your teeth, review your X-rays, and explain whether a filling, onlay, or another treatment is best.
Your Filling Options: Composite, Ceramic and More
Most patients choose composite resin fillings, which are tooth-coloured materials that bond closely to your enamel for a strong, natural-looking repair. For larger cavities or worn teeth, ceramic fillings and onlays may be recommended; these are custom-made pieces bonded to the tooth for strength and durability. A range of shades lets your dentist match your natural tooth colour for a seamless result. Amalgam (silver) fillings are rarely used, but are available if specifically requested. The practice also welcomes DVA and Medicare CDBS patients, and these schemes can cover eligible fillings.
